TED Democracy: Fireside Chats and Speaker Series

Prior to TED Democracy’s flagship event in February 2026 (more on that above), the event series features two additional sets of programming:

      a series of intimate fireside chats discussing civic engagement and public sentiment leading up to the 2024 election (July to November 2024), and

      a speaker series featuring three significant TED Talks by some of TED’s brightest minds on the needs of our global community following the 2024 election (January through December 2025).

The first event, Living in a Democracy (at a to-be-announced location), highlights opportunities we all have as a result of living in a democratic society and examine how we can be better citizens. Hosted by A.J. Jacobs — New York Times best-selling author and host of the podcast The Puzzler With A.J. Jacobs — features TED Talks from Katherine Maher, president and CEO of National Public Radio, and Baratunde Thurston, Emmy-nominated host, producer, writer and public speaker. A moderated discussion and Q&A session will follow.
