Vision
Global Water Alliance (GWA) envisions a world where all people have access to water for life-sustaining needs including sanitation and hygiene (WaSH), agriculture, and natural ecosystems.
Mission
Global Water Alliance (GWA) serves to raise awareness, educate, and amplify underrepresented voices on global water issues; and provides multidisciplinary expertise and support to WaSH projects in rural areas.
Who Are We?
Founded in 2006, the Global Water Alliance (GWA) is an international nonprofit based in Philadelphia committed to increasing global access to safe drinking water and sanitation. Our diverse member network consists of practitioners, educators, students, and organizations from a wide variety of fields – including science, engineering, public health, policy, development, and education.
What Do We Do?
We are committed to United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #6: Clean Water and Sanitation. According to the UN, billions of people lack access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH). GWA works through partnerships to implement Educational Initiatives and WaSH Field Projects across the globe. We pursue our mission with a strong focus on sustainability, equity, and poverty reduction, working collaboratively with partners such as Engineers Without Borders (EWB-USA), the Water Center at the University of Pennsylvania, the UN Association of Greater Philadelphia, Fairmount Waterworks, Madrugadores Rotary Club, and True Elements.
