Gender Justice Fund fights to end all forms of gender-based oppression through trust-based philanthropy and by  amplifying community-led systems change.

What is Gender Justice?

It is the recognition of the systems of misogyny and patriarchy that have historically oppressed women, trans, non-binary, gender nonconforming, and LGBTQ individuals purely on the basis of their gender or identity. It is a demand for accountability and undoing of harm. It is the recognition that individuals at the intersection of gender and other marginalized identities require varying levels of recompense. It is the understanding  that solutions lie in policy, systems change, resolution, and healing.

Our Focus Areas:

Systems Change: Our Systems Change Grant Program funds organizations working to achieve gender justice through policy, advocacy, and community organizing.

Culture Change: Our Culture Change Grant Program funds organizations working to address misogyny, rape culture, and gender-based violence. Grantees convene to share resources, collaborate, learn from each other, and build the consent education movement.

Movement Building: In addition to providing grants, we support the broader movement for gender justice by:

  • Amplifying the work of grantees
  • Advocating for gender-inclusive and equitable practices in the philanthropic sector
  • Fundraising and advocating for additional resources to achieve gender justice
