The Albert Lepage Center for History in the Public Interest invites you to join us from 6-7:15 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 - Topper Theatre at The John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts to hear from Dr. Tom Nichols about The Death of Expertise and the 2024 U.S. Elections.

Tom Nichols, bestselling author, staff writer at The Atlantic, and professor emeritus of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College, has expertise on a range of foreign policy issues and is renowned for his commentary on political issues and threats to democracy.

Hist most well-known book, The Death of Expertise: The Campaign Against Established Knowledge and Why It Matters, examines the rise of social distrust in experts and attacks against science and learning from the public. This event hopes to evaluate the 2024 U.S. elections in the historical context of this trend.
