Zabeth Teelucksingh is a global branding and positioning specialist, helping organizations and communities to reap the infinite rewards of thinking globally. Since 2011, Zabeth has served as the President of the Global Philadelphia Association (GPA), a non-profit positioning Philadelphia as a city of global influence and significance. Under her leadership, GPA partnered with the City of Philadelphia to secure World Heritage City status in 2015, making Philadelphia the first World Heritage City in the United States. Zabeth continues to guide Philadelphia’s engagement with the Organization of World Heritage Cities, taking part in international convenings and building strong partnerships with historic cities across the globe.

In the decade since Philadelphia became a World Heritage City, Zabeth has developed and led events and programs that build on this prestigious designation, growing the region’s global profile and connecting local communities with centuries of heritage. She created GlobalPhilly Expo, which highlights international organizations across the city, and developed World Heritage Week, an annual public event series celebrating Philadelphia’s history and its international ties. Zabeth is passionate about creating opportunities for young people across the region to engage with Philadelphia’s heritage, both through educational resources – such as  LearnPHL.org, a forthcoming website where teachers and students alike can find materials on the city’s history – and GPA’s long-running internship program. Zabeth established a dedicated training program for local university students, the Emerging International Journalists Program, which sees them develop and write initial content on global issues and receive guidance from an advisory board of media experts. Currently, Zabeth is spearheading a major public art campaign, which raises awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and provides funding for local organizations and community groups building a more sustainable future for Philadelphia.

With more than twenty-five years of experience across the corporate and nonprofit sectors, Zabeth is highly skilled in all aspects of strategy, communications, and branding, and has developed a global network of professional connections. Before joining GPA, Zabeth served in several international marketing and advertising roles in the United States and Europe, including for TIME, Inc. in Paris, the World Congress in Boston, and J. Walter Thompson in Miami. Alongside her current role with GPA, Zabeth serves on the boards of several national and regional organizations, including Philadelphia250, the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Advisory Committee, the Fox School CIBER Board at Temple University, the Eisenhower Fellowships’ U.S. Selection Committee, Women for Greater Philadelphia, and the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. Zabeth is also a frequent public speaker and moderator at events on global affairs.

Over the course of her career, Zabeth has received the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Women of Distinction Award and Power100; the SmartCEO Brava Award; the Young Caribbean Professional Network’s International Entrepreneur of the Year Award; and City & State Pennsylvania’s Sustainable Impact Award.

Born in Carthage, Tunisia, Zabeth graduated from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and History, before going on to study French Civilization at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. She holds an Executive Diploma in Global Social Impact Leadership and a Certificate in Design Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Zabeth has lived in six countries, speaks several languages, and is a dual citizen of France and the United States.
