Indochinese-American Council (IAC)

Founded in 1982, the Indochinese American Council (IAC) is a grassroots, community-based neighborhood organization for immigrants, refugees, and other minorities (African-American, African, Hispanic, Caribbean, Asian, European, etc.).

IAC's mission is to:

• Empower multi-racial, low-income, and at-risk minorities
• Promote racial harmony and cultural understanding through education, traditional arts, and personal interaction

• Promote self-sufficiency through programs offering Core Education classes such as:

  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Adult Basic Education
  • Pre-GED and GED
  • Traditional arts education
  • Computer skills training
  • After-school tutoring and enrichment classes
  • Pre-employment training
  • Internship placement
  • Job placement
  • Counseling
  • Case management
  • Referral services
  • Translation and interpretation services

Staff members speak over 13 languages including Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese, Cambodian, Indonesian, Spanish, Russian, French, Creole, Arabic, and others.
