We’ve been in Whole Foods since 1997.

Whole Foods Market began to open stores in Philadelphia in 1997, and while looking for the best authentic sushi establishment, they discovered Genji. We welcomed the opportunity to work with Whole Foods, and quickly found that Whole Foods’ customers appreciated our founding values of quality, freshness, authenticity, and customer service.

We operate over 215 sushi bars in the US & UK.

Today, Genji operates over 215 sushi bar locations, over 40 Pan-Asian venues including Ramen, Poké, and Wok in the United States and in the United Kingdom, and is the largest sushi vendor within the Whole Foods Market chain. Our 900+ chefs undergo rigorous training to reach the top of their craft, and continuously maintain class-leading food safety, and unsurpassed customer service.

We’ve opened many more stores and have welcomed even more team members to the family over the years, but we still stay true to the values that our founders established:

  • uncompromising quality, freshness,
  • authenticity, and customer appreciation.
