Asian American Women’s Coalition (AAWC)
Founded in 1987, the Asian American Women’s Coalition (AAWC) is an nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing Asian American women through leadership and mutual support. By providing various support programs, they strive to bring a voice to Asian American interests and increase cultural diversity awareness.
In addition to providing networking and employment support, they have partnered with many community organizations. For example, they have contributed to the children’s collection at the Free Library of Philadelphia, partnered with the Methodist Hospital to raise money for needy children, and collaborated with the Smithsonian museum on various exhibitions. AAWC also provides scholarships to high school students who have had a significant impact on their local community. Started in 1994, the Cecilia Moy Yep Scholarship has further empowered young women, and more information on how to apply can be found here.
