Adelaide Ferguson

Ms. Ferguson is an international education and development consultant with extensive expertise in the comprehensive globalization of universities and law schools. She often works at the intersection of higher education and international development, designing capacity building, rule of law and women's empowerment programs in developing countries.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Ms. Ferguson worked at Temple University for over 20 years, ten years at the vice presidential level. She founded Temple’s first comprehensive Office of International Affairs, managing its extensive international portfolio, including Temple campuses in Japan, China and Italy, the study abroad office, international student services, and partnerships with universities abroad.

As Temple Law School’s Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Programs, she oversaw a multi-faceted rule of law program in China, recently cited in a Congressional report as one of the five most significant U.S. - funded assistance programs in China.

She is a contributing editor of a book on the International Human Rights of Women, the recipient of three awards for her social justice work and a frequent speaker at national conferences. She is also co-founder of Philadelphia’s Cherry Blossom Festival which promotes friendship and understanding between Japan and Philadelphia.

Ms. Ferguson holds a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University and a masters degree in Human Rights Law from Oxford University.
