2016 Philadelphia World Heritage City Celebration - Recap

Philadelphia became the first city in the United States of America to be accepted as a member of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC) on November 6, 2015. One year later,on September 8, 2016, Global Philadelphia Association celebrated for the first time the annual World Heritage Celebration, in honor of the “Solidarity Day of World Heritage Cities” across the globe. That day, more than 260 member cities of the OWHC celebrated their uniqueness and common bond around the world. 450 guests attended the event organized in Philadelphia, at the beautiful Crystal Tea Room in The Wanamaker Building.

2016 Honored Guests

Mayor Jim Kenney, U.S. Senator Bob Casey and Secretary General of the Organization of World Heritage Cities, Denis Ricard celebrated with us. Chris Matthews, MSNBC Host of “Hard Ball”,was the featured speaker and guest of honor.
