Tiffany & More: Stained Glass Windows at St. Martin-in-the-Fields

Most of the stained-glass windows at St. Martin’s are more than a century old, crafted by the finest artisans of the era. They are designed to enhance worship with supernal light and color. Some highlight key moments in the order of worship. Others illustrate Bible stories related to the congregation’s mission and teachings.
This program is not a lecture, but rather a process by which participants will explore the effect and meaning of specific windows and share their discoveries with all. Insights into the Episcopal way of being Christian will be woven into our experience of fine art. Persons from all religious perspectives and other worldviews are encouraged to attend.
Facilitator: Rev. John B. Hougen, PhD, Art of Interfaith Understanding Coordinator and Volunteer Docent at the PMA.
