The trainshed above Reading Terminal Market is one of Philadelphia’s great feats of 19th-century engineering and urban design, and its story is deeply intertwined with the city’s rail, food, and architectural history. As part of the celebration surrounding the International Day of Monuments and Sites, Ms. Gutterman will provide a brief history of the trainshed, its renovation and transformation into the Grand Hall of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
