In celebration of Philadelphia’s World Heritage Week, we invite you to join author Butch Meily in the Business Resource & Innovation Center (BRIC) at Parkway Central Library. Butch will discuss his new memoir, “From Manila to Wall Street – An Immigrant’s Story of America’s First Black Tycoon” which comes out in May 2025.

Rene “Butch” Meily is President of Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation, a private sector disaster management organization that includes major business groups. He also heads IdeaSpace, a technology accelerator for early-stage startups, and QBO Innovation Hub, a public private sector partnership to mentor startups. He has written articles for
the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, New York Daily News, Black Enterprise and RealClearMarkets.com
