Kwanzaa Celebration; Protecting Heritage and Memory at the Center in the Park

Kick off Kwanzaa early with a family-friendly afternoon of treats, music, dancing, free children’s books and a screening of the celebrated Kwanzaa documentary, The Black Candle. Directed by award-winning writer and filmmaker MK Asante — and narrated by Maya Angelou — the film explores Kwanzaa’s roots and celebrates Black excellence.
