Indigenous Trails & New Sweden
Have you ever wondered where local Ancestral Indigenous trails from the 17th century are located?
Join ASHM and Bob Thomas for a free online presentation on not only where the trails used by Indigenous cultures were likely located, but also why they were built in certain locations and for what purposes, and where they networked throughout the New Sweden Colony. We’ll also learn to what extent some of them still survive in modern form.
Later this summer or fall, join Bob again for a tour of little-visited parts of the Swedish settlement in southern New Jersey to see what are likely remnants of some of the trails used by the Lenape.
