Indigenous Peoples’ Day Philly Celebration

Indigenous Peoples’ Day Philly Celebration

The Center for Peace & Global Citizenship and Race & Ethnicity Education Office invites members of the Haverford College community to join us in experiencing the eighth annual Philadelphia Indigenous People's Day festival! Transportation into Philadelphia will be offered for anyone interested in attending the festival.

Monday, October 14th is Indigenous People's Day. In Philadelphia, an Indigenous led non-profit, IPD Philly, will be holding a cultural festival in Shackamaxon Park from 11am-5pm to celebrate and honor this holiday. There will be rappers, poets, dancers, art, clothing, jewelry, and food! To learn more about IPD Philly and their celebration, visit them here.

Participation in the event is free. (The College is providing an honorarium to organizers). The van will be leaving from the South Lot at 12:00pm and returning by 4:00pm.

This opportunity is open to all students and employees of Haverford College.
