Heritage Hangout @ “The In-Between Spaces” / Meet & Greet for Philly's Black Heritage Community

event flyer

Presented in conjunction with the Friends of the Tanner House, we invite all those interested in Black memory work, archive development, and heritage preservation to join us at the Free Library to celebrate one another and steward multigenerational community to move forward our collective work.

Ahead of Black History Month 2024, we are here to uplift the folks who do this work all year. Bring your resources, program fliers, and ideas / possibilities! We want to ensure that this necessary work in sustaining all what sustains us finds its proper support.

During this time, attendees will also be encouraged to walk through the exhibition on view at the parkway Central library, entitled The In-Between Spaces. This exhibition, curated by archivist and memory worker Doriana Diaz is the skeletal architecture for which all forms of creation manifest themselves into archival distinction. In West Gallery One, view the work of all 10 Black Philadelphia based contributing artists. Donations are encouraged at this link and will go to support the artists of the “The In-Between Spaces” exhibition.
