Centennial Exposition of 1876- Philly Pop Ups

Media Photo

Hear the story of the event that drew 10 million people to Fairmount Park in 1876; learn what came from the Expo, and where all those buildings went. The topic is especially timely as Philadelphia prepares for the nation’s 250th in 2026.

LOCATION: Corinthian Gardens picnic tables.  Enter the garden on Brown Street, just beyond the intersection of Brown & Corinthian Ave in Fairmount, alongside Eastern State Penitentiary. (There's no street address, but it would be 2050 Brown St. on GPS.)

PHILLY HISTORY POP UPS at Corinthian Gardens are free, entertaining presentations on intriguing but little-known Philly stories connected to people, places or historic events. Each topic is tied to something you can see today, as well. They're best for curious Philadelphians!

PHYSICAL TICKETS NOT REQUIRED at the pop up. Your name will be on a list - please sign in upon arrival.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Looking forward to seeing you there!
