Cascarones Spontaneous-Crack-A-Thon at Woodmere!

Picture of eggs.

Join Woodmere Art Museum for a festive day celebrating the colorful tradition of cascarones, confetti-filled eggs that are cracked over the heads of friends and loved ones to bring good luck. In partnership with Philadelphia artist Marta Sánchez and Cascarones Por La Vida, this family festival will feature hands-on artmaking in celebration of culture and creativity.

From 10:00 AM–12:00 PM, families are invited to participate in free cascarón decorating workshop in the MacDonald Studio. Guests will learn about the history and significance of this beloved tradition while creating their own colorful designs.

At 12:00 PM, guests will gather for a community celebration featuring remarks from special guests, volunteers, and organizations whose support has helped make this event possible.

The highlight of the day begins at 2:00 PM with the Cascarones Spontaneous-Crack-A-Thon, a large-scale community participation event and official attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest simultaneous cascarón cracking. Registered participants will receive two complimentary cascarones and gather for a coordinated countdown before cracking them overhead at the same moment. Combining the joy of a cherished cultural tradition with the excitement of a world record attempt, this memorable event will bring hundreds of participants together in a shared celebration of art, community, and good fortune.
