Archaeology Institute of America Lecture: New Research on the Ancient Port of Kommos

The ancient Mediterranean port of Kommos, located on the southern coast of Crete, played an important role in the maritime networks of the Bronze and Iron Ages.

Dr. James C. Wright will discuss recent work at Kommos, sharing new findings that expand our understanding of the site’s historical significance during the Late Bronze Age and Iron Age. He’ll also explore the growing threats that climate change poses to the preservation of this important archaeological site.
