Event Image

Each year the Department of Philosophy at Haverford College holds the Altherr Symposium in memory of Roland Altherr, a Haverford philosophy major from the class of 1981 who died during his senior year.

The Symposium provides an opportunity for the philosophy majors and community members to engage with a philosopher of their choosing.

This year, Hanna Pickard,, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Philosophy and Bioethics and Krieger-Eisenhower Professor at Johns Hopkins University, will be delivering a public talk titled "Addiction and the Good". This will be followed by a reception.
