This year, we honor James A. Williams Jr., General President of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT), for his steadfast commitment to immigrant inclusion in the workforce. Under his leadership, the IUPAT has championed fair opportunities and dignity for all workers, recognizing the essential role immigrants play in building stronger communities and economies. At a time when immigrants are too often targeted or excluded, Williams has been a powerful voice for solidarity, justice, and shared prosperity, values that align deeply with The Welcoming Center’s mission.
