Since 1984, SEAMAAC has brought crucially needed support to community members throughout the Greater Philadelphia area. Today SEAMAAC stands as one of the oldest and largest refugee-founded agencies in the region, serving constituencies from over 40 countries representing over 45 distinct linguistic communities. With multiple program sites in South Philadelphia, each year SEAMAAC serves thousands of immigrant, refugee and native-born individuals and families through our programs in community development, civic engagement, hunger relief, education, and health & social services.

Madeline Bell is the CEO of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and serves on the boards of Comcast-NBCUniversal and the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics, as well as on the executive committee of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia. She is the honorary consular officer for the Embassy of Spain in the Philadelphia metro area, a fellow of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the former Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia’s Board of Directors.

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy was formed by the 2010 merger between all-girls Springside School and all-boys Chestnut Hill Academy, private Pre-K–12 schools on adjacent campuses.

St. James-the-Less closely resembles a real medieval building: a small, picturesque English country church of the early thirteenth century.  Its founders’ quest for architectural authenticity was connected to their effort to restore what they judged to be the authentic modes of Christian worship—as it had been before the rationalism of the Enlightenment stripped the Episcopal church of ritual, music, and divine mystery. 

The inspiration for both revivals—of architecture and liturgy—came from England.

Although born in what is now Northern Ireland, Logan named his house for his father’s birthplace in Scotland.
