The Philadelphia region is home to hundreds of non-profit organizations, civic and professional associations, and public agencies dedicated to connecting the region to the rest of the world and enhancing its international reputation.  

Whether it's an international development agency working on behalf of women's rights in Afghanistan or teaching sustainable agricultural techniques in Africa, an association of citizens organized in support of the goals of the United Nations, a chapter of the International Visitors Council dedicated to citizen diplomacy, or a chamber of commerce focused on promoting business ties with South America, you can find it here.

Explorers Sans Frontieres (ESF) is a progressive organization with an interest in building partnerships and growing trusting relationships. ESF is always interested in opportunities that support communities locally and around the world. They foster the growth of future world leaders through interrelationship building and limitless learning opportunities through practical application. Foundation for Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization dedicated to improving pediatric and maternal health in the developing world through the implementation of innovative and self-sustainable health improvement programs.
Founded by John E. Allen, Jr. in 1966, the award-winning Freedom Theatre is Pennsylvania's oldest African-American theatre. In 1993, Mr. Walter Dallas created Freedom Rep, the professional performing company of Freedom Theatre. Since then, Freedom has grown from a small community theatre to an award-winning, nationally recognized regional theatre, only the second African-American theatre to have joined the prestigious League of Resident Theatres (LORT).
In order to provide more services to the non-theist community, the Freethought Society provides services not offered by other groups. The goal is to raise awareness and acceptance of the non-theist community.
The French-American Chamber of Commerce (FACC) is a non-profit, membership-based association that is globally supported by American and French business leaders and companies. Through the efforts of its chapters and members, FACC seeks to contribute to the development and improvement of economic, commercial and financial relations between France and the United States.
Friends of The Peace Train is a non-profit organization established in 2004 by South African musician and humanitarian, Sharon Katz, to raise awareness and funds for children who lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS and to help young adults become self-sufficient. We provide meals for the hungry, homes for the homeless, training and jobs for the unemployed, and music therapy to give hope and aid in the healing process.

As part of the recent strategic planning process and as a first step in the Middle States self-study, the boards of Girard College have approved a revision to the school’s mission statement:
 Glencairn, built between 1928 and 1939 in Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, was once the home of Raymond and Mildred (Glenn) Pitcairn and their children. The building now serves as a museum of religious art and history. Glencairn Museum invites a diverse audience to engage with religious beliefs and practices, past and present, by exploring art, artifacts, and other cultural expressions of faith. 
Global Citizen is non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting civic engagement, community volunteering, civic responsibility, and sustained active citizenship among diverse groups, particularly young people. Global Citizen promotes democracy building, voter education and participation, locally and globally. We bring together people of all ages and backgrounds to build diverse partnerships through serving others, thus realizing how much more we have in common than our difference.
Founded in 2007, GEEO is a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps and encourages educators to travel abroad. GEEO runs summer professional development travel programs designed for teachers. Educators have the option to earn graduate school credit and professional development credit while seeing the world. The trips are 8 to 24 days in length and are designed and discounted to be interesting and affordable for teachers. GEEO provides teachers educational materials and the structure to help them bring their experiences into the classroom. The trips are open to all nationalities of K-12 and university educators and administrators, as well as retired educators. Educators are also permitted to bring along a non-educator guest.
The Global Health Programs Office (GHP) at PennMed was launched by the School of Medicine in 2004, in response to requests from Penn's medical students who had formed a global health interest group. Since its initiation, the program has grown in a stepwise fashion, with the participation of programs and faculty from many departments. For convenience, global health activities may be divided into three major rubrics: (i) Education and Training; (ii) Research; (iii) Service and Clinical Programs.
