From Human Rights to Indigenous Peoples' Rights: Collaborating for Local Action.

Keynote Speaker: Bryan Knotts, CEO of Citizens for Global Solutions

I am delighted to extend an invitation to join us for an in-person reception and engaging "talk around" on UN DAY 2023, taking place on October 25 from 5.30- 7:30 p.m. at the Philadelphia Ethical Society at 1906 South Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia PA 19103 https://phillyethics.org/ This event serves as a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). We have aptly named this event: From Human Rights to Indigenous Peoples' Rights: Collaborating for Local Action

Our goal is to bring together representatives from various organizations, officials, and select individuals actively advancing a "rights-related" agendas within the Greater Philadelphia Region. We envision fostering a welcoming atmosphere for networking, where you can exchange fliers, business cards, and, most importantly, ideas for strategic initiatives and collaborations. We are reaching out to approximately 30 organizations, with the request to each send up to four representatives.

In a gesture of respect and acknowledgment, we are extending an invitation to representatives of the Lenape Tribal community. This is not only to recognize that all our efforts in the realm of "rights work" take place on their ancestral lands, but also to highlight the historical significance of upholding or disregarding treaties.

We look forward to your participation in this meaningful event, where we can collectively explore ways to advance the cause of human rights. Since we need a head count, please RSVP by Oct 20th to [email protected]. If you are coming with others, please include the total number you expect to bring.
