Select Greater Philadelphia hosts special reception for the Trade Representatives of the State of Pennsylvania
Posted on August 7, 2019

As part of its mission to promote prospective business in Philadelphia, Select Greater Philadelphia hosted a cocktail reception in honor of the Trade Representatives of the State of Pennsylvania on July 29 at Bridge on Race.
Select partnered with the City of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development’s Office of International Business Development (OIBD) to host the event. In doing this, Select wanted to provide the team of representatives with a platform to hear about Philadelphia’s regional business assets, which would help the team to bring these ideas to their respective regions. The team was comprised of 12 internationally based business leaders who represent Pennsylvania’s interests in the following regions: China/Taiwan, Japan, the UK, Mexico, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Australia and India.
The international guests and civic leaders were welcomed by Bill Sasso, Chairman of Stradley Ronon, and Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, addressed Philadelphia’s current momentum and need to further the city’s global reach. Following this, Joseph Burke, Deputy Secretary of the OIBD, presented statistics documenting the importance of Pennsylvania's economy on a national level.
The internationally based representatives were then treated to hors d'oeuvres and drinks on a beautiful fifth floor terrace, and enjoyed the stunning views of the Delaware River and Ben Franklin Bridge. As conversation flowed freely, the reception was a great opportunity for business leaders to solidify connections, expand networks, and increase Philadelphia’s international presence.
