Paul Steinke awarded for his work in historic preservation
Posted on December 18, 2017

Article by Eric Toll, GPA Ambassador
Global Philadelphia Association is pleased to congratulate Paul Steinke for his work in raising awareness for historic preservation throughout the area, and for his continued advocacy for the reuse and rehabilitation of historic buildings. It helps to persevere and protect the historic character of Philadelphia, which sets Philadelphia apart from so many other cities.
Paul Steinke became Executive Director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia in 2016. Before this, Paul Steinke has served as General Manager of the Reading Terminal Market from 2001-2015. Paul had also served for nearly four years as founding Executive Director of University City District, a business improvement district that has played a key role in the revitalization and enormous economic growth of West Philadelphia seen in recent years. Before that, Paul spent seven years as Director of Finance and Administration for the Center City District, downtown Philadelphia’s business improvement district.
A lifelong Philadelphian, Paul is a graduate of Penn State University. He also serves on the boards of Preservation Pennsylvania, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Center City Proprietors Association, the National Association of Produce Market Managers, and the Garden Court Community Association. We are sure that Paul will continue to be a major figure in the current revitalization of Philadelphia.
