Posted on May 22, 2020

World Heritage Week will celebrate Philadelphia’s fifth anniversary as a World Heritage City
PHILADELPHIA, PA – Global Philadelphia Association (GPA) would like to invite you to celebrate World Heritage Week with us from May 26-30. Traditionally, Philadelphia has celebrated its World Heritage Day on the fourth Thursday in May since Mayor Kenney instituted the tradition in May 2016. This year, in honor of Philadelphia’s fifth anniversary as a World Heritage City, GPA will host five days of virtual events and festivities in celebration of our world heritage. Throughout the week, we will also hold a #GiveBack campaign to raise money for our charity partner, Nationalities Service Center, to support immigrants and refugees affected by the
COVID-19 pandemic. Each event will take place through GPA’s social media accounts:
- Instagram: @globalphiladelphia
- Twitter: @GlobalPhila, @PhillylovesWHC, @globalphillyTM
- Facebook: Global Philadelphia Association, GlobalPhilly, Philadelphia First World Heritage City in US
Each day’s events can be found below:

May 28: Extending Philadelphia’s Global Reach
