West Philadelphia Corridor Collaborative President, Jabari Jones, alongside Councilman Curtis Jones, brought to life a public market with refurbished shipping containers as spaces for small businesses.

Sandy Pfeffer, a Deloitte professional for 26 years, has been named Greater Philadelphia marketplace leader for Deloitte LLP, effective Jan. 2, 2023. Pfeffer succeeds Rob McNeill, partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, who has served as Greater Philadelphia managing partner for nine years.

Global Philadelphia Association (GPA) has announced that Zabeth Teelucksingh has been named President of the organization after holding the title of Executive Director for over 10 years.

Philadelphia250 announced 11 semi-finalists for their Leave a Legacy grant program during an event on June 28. The semi-finalists’ community projects will one day strengthen Philadelphia and solidify its legacy as a historical city. Each project was celebrated as they move onto the next stages of the grant process.

As part of Global Philadelphia Association’s World Heritage Week celebration, GPA hosted a diverse group of young professionals to talk about their career paths and how important it is to think globally. This virtual event not only served as a networking opportunity for the youth of Philadelphia, but it also showcased the international career opportunities Philadelphia has to offer.

PA Humanities has a new look and brand. The nearly 50-year-old nonprofit unveiled its new logo in November, which showcases a multicolored PA logo instead of the previous navy blue letters PHC.

Mitchell Little is the executive director at Philadelphia’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity. A native Philadelphian, Mitchell’s role is to oversee the work that is done in the office that focuses on improving economic mobility opportunities for Philadelphians impacted by poverty. 

Since 1964, the office has been focused on economic empowerment, evolving from a community service-based approach to one that invests in and advocates for successful anti-poverty solutions.
