The Parkside Fresh Food Fest is a five (5) event series that seeks to build community, utilize common public space, and provide fresh food access. Each event is free and open to the public and will include a chef led cooking demonstration with free samples as well as a variety of entertainment, education, and civic engagement opportunities. All event dates are rain or shine!

All of the fresh produce and product included in the subscription is provided by Reading Terminal Market Merchants!

 Hidden Lives Illuminated will bring the often invisible stories of people living in prisons to light against the backdrop of Eastern State Penitentiary's dramatic stone walls. The series will feature nightly screenings of newly-commissioned, animated short films created by currently-incarcerated artists living in Pennsylvania correctional institutions.

In this era of experimental discovery and practical skill, physicians and chymists worked to heal the human body. They studied the secrets of the natural world. These men and women ushered in change, creativity, and scientific inquiry. This era was stranger than fiction and more curious than myth. We invite you to step into the real Age of Alchemy.

Experience a FREE musical celebration of West Philadelphia presented by the Philly POPS! Members of The Philly POPS BIG Band will fill Malcolm X Park with the sounds of West Philadelphia with a one-hour concert celebrating musicians with West Philly connections.

This event is presented by the City’s Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy as part of Performances in Public Spaces, a summer series of FREE cultural performances in parks and plazas across Philadelphia neighborhoods.

In commemoration of this big event, September 8 was declared “Solidarity Day of the World Heritage Cities” and all these cities are welcomed to commemorate it every year by organizing different activities that aim at highlighting their uniqueness.
