The Solas Awards are an annual honor bestowed upon individuals in the Philadelphia region by the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians for contributions to improving the quality of life for immigrants to Pennsylvania. This year's Solas Awards will be given out on March 6 at the Radisson Plaza-Warwick Hotel. Cocktails, Heavy Hors d’Oeuvres and Dessert will be served.

The Welcoming Center is thrilled to announce the winners of the 2013 Solas Awards. These distinguished individuals will be honored at the 2013 Solas Awards:

Realizing the American Dream Award
- Rudy Karsan, co-founder and CEO of Kenexa, an IBM Company
Atlas Award for Advancing Opportunity
- Michael Pearson, president of Union Packaging
Dennis Clark Solas Award
- Anne O'Callaghan, founder and president emeritus of the Welcoming Center for New Pennsylvanians

General public --$150 each
Eligible nonprofit direct service providers -- $100

The amount of $75 per ticket is tax-deductable.

Dine Latino Restaurant Week

Dine Latino Restaurant Week is a promotional campaign, now in its sixth iteration that seeks to boost the revenue of Latino-Owned restaurants by promoting the availability of dining options of any cuisine.

The spotlight is reserved for independent and local eateries owned by Latinos. Restaurants are asked to offer a free appetizer or dessert with the purchase of two dinner entrees to patrons.

The German-American Chambers of Commerce (AHK USA), with this year's support from the IHK Frankfurt am Main, are organizing the 8th German-American Business Forum.

Fall Rittenhouse Square Fine Craft Fair

The Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen showcases American-made Fine Craft in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic Rittenhouse Square. It is a thriving, walkable area of the city, alive with restaurants, offices, high-income residents, businesses, museums, and universities. This highly attended show draws customers from Philadelphia, its surrounding suburbs, as well as New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Show attendance also benefits from being in a high tourist attended area of the city.
