Brendon Burns: "Researching your Revolutionary War ancestor and proving their service at Valley Forge"
Proving the patriotic service of your Revolutionary War ancestor is not always a straightforward path. In this talk, Genealogist, Brendon Burns, will explain the approval process for joining the Daughters of the American Revolution and the common reasons why applications are rejected. For example, it may become necessary to sort multiple individuals of the same name in a given locality, determining which one may be connected to a particular record of patriotic service. Burns will describe best methods in research methodology and identify useful tools for locating historic records. You may even learn how to find your own historical connection to Valley Forge!
