On Sunday, May 5th, at 3pm, the German Society of Pennsylvania invites you to a colorful and sparkling potpourri of musical theater selections called “Stay With Me”!
If Beauty and the Beast sounds familiar to you, if Shrek is your friend, if Les Miserables made you cry, if My Fair Lady rings a bell and The Hunchback of Notre Dame makes you dream, then this is your event. A group of young students from Germany will present this wonderful medley, in which you will also discover some unexpected gems like "Männer Muss Man Loben", a chanson by Barbara Schöneberger, a well known TV host in Germany, or "My Darling", a song from a 1926 German musical by composer Emmerich Kálmán.
The Folkwang University in Essen with its "Folkwang School of Music, Dance and Speech" was founded in 1927; it is a central place for artistic training in music, theater, dance, design and academic studies and fosters the idea of cross-disciplinary interaction of the arts. 1400 students from almost all over the world attend the University, which has hosted famous artists like dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch.
