Come see the U.S. debut of this spectacular exhibit from China's top emerging young artists at Drexel University.

"The Start of a Long Journey" features sixty paintings, prints, sculptures and videos from twenty-four of China Central Academy of Fine Arts' (CAFA) most talented young alumni artists, opening Oct. 4 with a 5 p.m. reception at the Pearlstein Gallery with CAFA dignitaries, including Mr. Wang Min, Dean of CAFA’s School of Design.

The CAFA exhibition’s Beijing opening was recently featured in The New York Times, attracting collectors and gallery owners from around the world. The works featured are critical assessments of the previous era of Chinese art shaped by the intellectual trends during the Cold War period, as well as the allure of traditional Chinese wisdom.

Selected works include: Zhang Yifan’s “Elephant” series of digital print-making, acrylic and laser-cutting works (pictured above left); "The Sound of Peace," paintings by Jeong Seong Joon (above center); and“Adding and Subtracting,” a sculpture of books and texts by Wu Wer (above right), among others.
