International House Philadelphia is pleased to announce our Spring 2016 Family Matinee series, which presents amazing films from around the world that will delight children, ignite their imagination and broaden their horizons. All Family Matinee films are presented in English.

Feb. 27 – Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet. Gibran’s timeless verses have been given enchanting new form in this cinematic adventure.

March 12 – Zarafa, a captivating adventure about an orphaned baby giraffe.

March 26 – The Tale of Princess Kaguya. Japan’s most famous folktale is told in this gorgeous, hand-drawn masterpiece.

April 9 – Best of the Fest: Kid Flix Mix 1. Audience favorites and short films from the New York International Children’s Film Festival.

April 23 – Sita Sings the Blues. An animated retelling of the ancient Indian epic, Ramayana.

May 14 – Best of the Fest: Kid Flix Mix 2. More from the NY International Children’s Film Festival, recommended for ages 9 to adult.

May 21 – Tales of the Night, a beautifully animated film that weaves together six exotic fables.

June 11 – Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind. Set in a future world, a story of a young princess, both brave and innocent.

June 25 – Viva NYICFF: Best of Spanish and Latin American Short Films. Selected from the NY International Children’s Film Festival.
