On Wednesday, September 12, enjoy an afternoon of Arab music by Al-Bustan's Resident Takht Ensemble at Philadelphia's City Hall! The Ensemble will perform a repertoire of Arab classical and contemporary instrumental music. In addition, Music Director Hanna Khoury will offer contextualization for each song by giving audience members an introduction to Arab music modes, composition, and instruments in a format that is participatory and entertaining.

Performers include Music Director HannaKhoury (violin), Kinan Idnawi (oud), Kinan Abou-afach (cello), and Hafez El Ali Kotain (percussion). 

City Hall Presents is a new series of free events that welcomes the full spectrum of Philadelphia’s performing arts into the spaces of City Hall. Organized by the City of Philadelphia Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, these events will bring a new vibrancy to the historic building and inspire citizens to become more active in the arts.
