Monday, July 17, 2017 - 9:00am - Friday, July 21, 2017 - 5:00pm The Global Summer Institute is a five-day K-12 teacher training organized by the National Resource Centers at University of Pennsylvania focusing on global education. The Summer Institute offers workshops by Al-Bustan Seeds of Culture, trips to the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s new South Asia Gallery and the Penn Museum’s special exhibition, "Cultures in the Crossfire: Stories from Syria and Iraq," curriculum development activities and much more!
This year’s theme will focus on creative interpretations of “empire,” exploring fabled kings and queens, dynasties that reshaped landscapes, colonial rulers and modern empires.

Participants receive ACT 48 credit and a $100 stipend for attendance and completion of all workshop activities.
