Wednesday, April 3, 2013 - 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center, 640 Waterworks Drive
Philadelphia, PA 19130
United States

Join us for a Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center first -- a live concert and preview of the short film, "A-E-I-O-U Water," followed by a conversation about water quality with Dr. Julie Becker, founder of the Women's Health & Environment Network and program director, University of the Sciences; and Joanne Dahme, public affairs manager, Philadelphia Water Department, and author of Contagion, The Plague, and Tombstone Tea.

Directed by Emmy-award winning composer and filmmaker Rodney Whittenberg, "A-E-I-O-U Water" includes a music video, with music composed Dan Kleiman, performed by Phyllis Chapell & SIORA and featuring Paul Jost. It is dedicated to the late Dan Kleiman, co-founder of SIORA, and will become part of the FWWIC's educational programming.

Phyllis Chapell is recognized as a vocal treasure: "One of the top jazz vocalists of all time." - Jazz Times. "Phyllis Chapell is an elegant singer who will steal your heart away if you let her....tasteful, eclectic and real." - The Philadelphia Inquirer.

This special event includes a concert by Phyllis Chapell, premiere of the video, a discussion, and a reception. Festivities begin at 5:30.
