Handmade Textiles from around the world

Iran- Ancient and New
with Tom Tauber
Last April, Tom Tauber went on a 16-day trip through Iran. It is an ancient land – the monument shown in the photograph commemorates 2,500 years of Persia. It is located in Tehran and was erected in the 1970s. And yet, Iran has a predominantly young and well-educated population which is largely urban. Because of the recent nuclear negotiations and their aftermath in Congress, Iran has been in the news. It is a country we Americans should get to know better.
South Korea: A Photographic Journey
with Margaret Lonzetta
The Republic of Korea, with its capital in Seoul, is a country of stunning beauty with a long and rich cultural heritage influenced by strong Buddhist and Confucian traditions of East Asia. In this presentation we will focus on “cultural Korea,” highlighting temples from early kingdoms, historical sites and some “life-seeing” views including food and children.
Make your reservation below by purchasing a ticket.
We are a networking group of active travelers who meet approximately four times a year in the Philadelphia area to share information and photographs about our trips. Our purpose is to help each other find new places to travel to, and to pass on our experiences so our fellow travelers can benefit from them. Simple fare or dinner will be offered.
