On April 27, NSC will host Global Tastes 2023, a benefit party whose proceeds will support services for immigrants and refugees in the Philadelphia area. Join us for a night of delicious food, music, and festivities to celebrate the immigrant community and NSC's legacy of providing critical services since 1922.

Global Tastes features culinary small bites from around the world, brought to us by Philadelphia's vibrant restaurant scene strengthened by immigrant chefs.

ODUNDE African Business Roundtable

The Ambassadors will discuss how to enable trade between Pennsylvania and their respective countries.

The guest speakers including the Office of International Business Development of Pennsylvania, Temple Small Business Development Center and Comcast will discuss how they provide resources and technical assistance to small businesses in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

WEEKNIGHTS AT THE WAGNER: Building for Books - Philadelphia’s Libraries

Architectural Historian Michael J. Lewis will trace the roots and development of Philadelphia’s private and public libraries.

The Quakers who founded Philadelphia believed in universal literacy and were great creators of libraries. The first was the Library Company, which Benjamin Franklin helped establish in 1731 and which was America’s first subscription library. But Quakers also believed that knowledge should be useful, and gave their libraries a pragmatic character unlike those of any other American city.
