Global Ideas Summit and Awards Ceremony

Monday, December 14, 2015 - 3:00pm - 6:30pm
Free Library, Skyline room, 1901 Vine Street 19103
Philadelphia, PA
United States

Take part in the 3rd “Global Ideas Summit” to discuss the World Heritage designation, and The Awards Ceremony, during the Annual Networking Event of Global Philadelphia Association (GPA).

This is a great opportunity to meet and connect with the movers and shakers of the International ecosystem of Philadelphia region and share your ideas of how to address major issues and decisions facing the region as it becomes more globally recognized.

1 - Attendees will hear about the World Heritage City designation, GlobalPhilly 2015 as well as the international resources available for the Philadelphia region.

2 - The second hour will be devoted to Breakout sessions covering 6 opportunities or challenges of international importance, an exercise that has come to be known as the “Global Ideas Summit”. This was highly popular when we ran it the previous years, and we expect that it will be no less popular this year.

3 - The First Annual Globy Awards will be given during the cocktail to those who helped to enhance the global profile of the Philadelphia Region.

Open to all global-minded people in PHL (civic leaders, international business, global non-profits)

We encourage you to arrive early (around 2:30) or at least on-time to have enough time for networking and contributing to the program.

II. Provide a powerful economic and cultural stimulus to the region

III. Inspire citizens to feel pride in their World Heritage City

1. Implement a public engagement campaign to inform the regional population about Philadelphia’s status as a World Heritage City and activate a discussion of the resulting opportunities.

2. Partner with existing organizations to facilitate brand recognition of Philadelphia as a World Heritage City in the region, nation and world.

3. Champion the education of all Philadelphians about our diverse and interconnected histories and cultures.

4. Participate in a broad range of activities with OWHC and its global member cities, increasing Philadelphia’s international presence.

5. Advocate and support an International Department within the City of Philadelphia to focus on global opportunities and support brand recognition.
