Secondary school students will meet at Chestnut Hill College to learn more about important, positive things happening in today’s world. They will explore the future they want from a human rights and human development perspective and see the importance of students being part of the solution to having a better world for everyone.

Programme: students will work together on a pre-selected sub theme: (a) Global Citizenry in a Multi-Cultural World (b) Sustaining Development through Environmental Responsibility (c) Education for All (d) Attainable Food Security and (e) Human Rights and Human Development

UN Day event is a stand-alone event, but can be partial preparation for the United Nations Student Conference on Human Rights (December) and/or the UN Student Leadership Conference for Development (February). Students can participate at the United Nations and work across cultures with their peers. They will know they are a generation capable of having a strong, positive impact in their world, today and tomorrow. 


For Educators, Students and Human Rights advocates. $15 for students (including resources and lunch)

Not open to public.

Public welcome for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies 9:30-11AM and 1-2:00PM.
