Photography Exhibition of International Communities in PHL _ by Drexel University

This event features "Philadelphia as Sanctuary: in Drexel University Gallery Space" telling the story of the International communities in Philadelphia.  

In partnership with Peace Day Philly (PDP) and the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) -

Drexel will hold a photography exhibition that is a professional artist and community collaborration.  The show will be up for the duration of GlobalPhilly 2013 and the gallery will also act as a "home base" for Drexel's events for the International Day of Peace and Global Philly.

Sarah Bones documentaries - Pathways to Housing and Sega Girls School in Tanzania -

Acclaimed Philadelphia photographer and documentary producer, Sarah Bones, will screen two of her short documentaries, followed by a discussion on visual media and social change both locally and globally.

James E. Marks Intercultural Center, 30 S.33rd Street, on Drexel’s campus.

October 29, 7:00pm
Harvey Finkle, will lead us in an interactive discussion as photography as a vehicle for social change. There will also be a networking session and presentation of the images from “Focus on Peace”. A city wide event that occurred on the International Day of Peace, Sept. 21st.

 

Drexel expects to have several programs in the space including an opening reception on September 19th and a closing event on Oct. 29th, 7pm.
