Delaware County Symphony Presents A Solo Piano Recital Performed By Ms. Jennifer Nicole Campbell Artist In Residence

The Delaware County Symphony (DCS) will present a solo piano recital titled From Twilight to Star Bright featuring Artist in Residence, Ms. Jennifer Nicole Campbell on Sunday April 24, 2016 at 3:00 pm in the Meagher Theatre of the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center at Neumann University in Aston, PA. The program will include Piano Sonata in E Major, Op. 109 by Beethoven, Nocturne in C-Sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 1 by Chopin, Für Alina by Pärt, Toccata (1948) by Rorem, Moment Musicaux No. 3 in F Minor by Schubert, Etude in A Minor (Storm) by Mark Maarder, and Polonaise-Fantasy, Op. 61 by Chopin and Perceptions of Shadows ( 2013) composed by Ms. Campbell.

Ms. Campbell enjoys a wide-ranging career as soloist, chamber musician and pedagogue. She has performed at notable halls including Lincoln Center, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, the Grand Opera House in Delaware, and the Musikhauset Aarhus in Denmark among others. Her extensive repertoire ranges from works of J.S. Bach to Israeli-American composer Avner Dorman. She has appeared on U.S. and Danish Television and radio, and was featured in the PBS documentary about the 5th Julia Crane International Piano Competition. An avid composer, Ms. Campbell’s music has been performed by numerous prominent artists. Her Piano Trio No. 1 received its premiere performance by members of the Philadelphia Orchestra in 2007. Ms. Campbell’s compositions have won the MTNA composition competitions in both Delaware and Pennsylvania, and her solo piano works have been premiered throughout the United States including halls at the University of Miami, the University of Buffalo, Canisius College, and the Peabody Conservatory

She was also praised by Robert Sherman, WQXR and WFUV Classical Music Radio Host, “not only as a beautiful pianist, but as a thinking artist…she is a composer herself, and is really able to get into the heart of a piece, and project it’s inner statements.” Ms. Campbell was also singled out by Rorianne Schrade for New York Concert Review describing her as a… “sensitive colorist and intelligent musician, Ms. Campbell reflected total immersion in her music”.

Concert tickets are $15. Children under 12 (one child per paying adult) are admitted free. Upon presentation of the Delaware County Library card two tickets may be purchased for the price of one at the ticket table the day of the concert.
