The Citizen Diplomat of the Year Award will be presented to Stephan A. Grupp, MD, PhD, a pediatric oncologist with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. We will recognize Dr.Grupp for raising Philadelphia’s international profile through his innovative advancements in medicine and his commitment to ensuring that people all around the world have access to this treatment.
As chief of the Cellular Therapy and Transplant Section at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Grupp has developed CAR-T cell therapies for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and is working to expand access to this new kind of cancer treatment, saving the lives of children across the globe.
