About Diwali: One of the most celebrated events on the Hindu calendar. The festival gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as Christmas is to Christians.

The Mayor’s Office of Immigrant and Multicultural Affairs (MOIMA), in collaboration with the Global Philadelphia Association and the Department of Commerce are proud to host this event.
