http://constitutioncenter.org/ Join the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall as they celebrate the birthdays of the American flag and the United States Army.
The Center’s Flag Day festivities will kick off at 9:50 a.m. following the ribbon-cutting ceremony for our summer feature exhibition, The 1968 Exhibit, with the raising of a Vietnam-era flag on the Center’s front lawn. Then, active members of the United States Army and historic military interpreters will parade down Independence Mall for a special ceremony in front of Independence Hall, which will include a 13-star flag raising and an appearance from the Army’s first commander in chief, President George Washington!
The celebration will conclude with future soldiers taking the oath to support and defend our Constitution. Festivities honoring both the American flag and the military will continue throughout the day, including activities on Independence Mall and a full lineup of patriotic programs and craft activities in the Center’s Grand Hall Lobby.
