_________________________________

We go back to the dawn of the 19th century and visit a fascinating series of connections around the explosion of musical romanticism in "BEETHOVEN TO BRAHMS…" framed with notions about artistic spirit in art and music.

This will be highlighted through the lens of the unique writer E.T.A. HOFFMANN (creator of the story of "The Nutcracker" and other fantastical tales); a man who deeply loved music, praised Beethoven, and wanted to be a professional composer himself.

Expanded with historic imagery and descriptive commentary, this concert aims to thoughtfully blend splendid music with perceptions about the highly charged nature of art.

This concert is the fourth concert this year in the CONCERTS AT ETHICAL series, now in its fourth season, part of an on-going collaboration between Fine Art Music Company and the Philadelphia Ethical Society.
