The Fourth Annual World Heritage Day: A Community Event

Philadelphia World Heritage Day was instituted by Mayor Kenney in 2016. It is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of each May. This annual event is an important part of bringing awareness of Philadelphia's World Heritage City to all city residents.

Each year, the celebration is carried out in a different location and in a different way. In 2019, we will celebrate World Heritage Day at Independence Hall, in honor of the 40th anniversary of this national landmark's UNESCO designation. The program will include remarks by the National Park Service, Global Philadelphia Association, and Mayor Kenney.
