In 2008, The Wistar Institute named Staci Vernick Goldberg as their new director of communications. Goldberg oversees Wistar’s internal and external communications and participates in strategic planning for the Institute.
Goldberg brings over 20 years’ experience in communications and media relations to Wistar. Most recently, she has served for the past two years as director of communications and public relations for the American Association for Cancer Research, the world’s oldest and largest scientific organization dedicated to advancing cancer research. Previously, she served for seven years as director of communications and public affairs for Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, the children’s hospital of the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions.
A Philadelphia-area native, Goldberg graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. She is an active volunteer for many local non-profits and serves on the steering committee of the Lance Armstrong Foundation’s Young Adult Alliance.
